Now that summer is in full swing, we thought we would share three of our favourite ways for you to make the most of your summer visit to Fernie:
Wednesday Summer Socials at the Fernie Arts Station
Located just a short 5 minute walk from the hotel in historic downtown, the Arts Station host a free summer concert series every Wednesday night in July and August. Complete with a beer garden, food vendors and local artisans, the evening is one of the best “social” events of the summer. Sunday Mountain Market
Located in Rotary Park next door to the hotel, the Fernie Mountain Market runs from Canada Day to the Labour Day weekend. This is the place to experience local organic growers selling fresh picked fruit, veggies, herbs and flowers; herbalist’s hand-crafted soaps and fragrances; baker’s tasty pies and homemade sourdough bread; and local artisans latest creations, for yourself. The Sunday Markets run 10am-2pm in Rotary Park.
Scenic Chairlift Rides
Offering several marked interpretive trails with spectacular view, a ride up one of the lifts will take your summer vacation to new heights! Fernie Alpine Resort operates the Elk and Timber Chairs (weekends only) from June 24 – September 3, 2017 (PLUS BONUS WEEKENDS OF Sept 9-10/17 and Sept 16-17/17). Inquire with our reservations staff on how to receive a complimentary scenic chairlift pass when you book a minimum 2-night stay at the Cornerstone Lodge this summer.
