With the spectacular Canadian Rocky Mountains as your backdrop, Fernie offers a wealth of outdoor adventures from early May right through into October:

Golf: The 18-hole Fernie Golf & Country Club is a challenging par 70 and is noted for it’s mature tree-lined fairways, strategically placed water hazards and spectacular mountain views in every direction. Situated on the north edge of town, the course is easily accessible from the lodge.

Fly Fishing: Amongst fly-fishing enthusiasts, the Elk River is world-renowned. Enjoy a day of guided fishing with Fernie Wilderness Adventures or visit one of the excellent fly fishing shops located in Fernie.

 White Water Rafting: Discover a wild or mild river rafting adventure on the Elk River with Canyon Rafting or Mountain High Adventures.

 Hiking & Mountain Biking: Fernie offers a wealth of hiking and mountain biking opportunities right out the front door of the Cornerstone Lodge. Visit Tourism Fernie to learn more.

Adventures in the Snow

In addition to skiing & snowboarding at Fernie Alpine Resort, Fernie offers a wealth of outdoor adventures in the winter months:

  •  Catskiing: Enjoy a day of Fernie Catskiing or Boarding with Fernie Wilderness Adventures or Island Lake Resorts
  •  Snowmobiling: Head out Snowmobiling into the backcountry via groomed trails maintained by the Fernie Snowmobile Club
  • Cross-country Skiing: Three main areas are maintained for cross-country skiing in Fernie. Visit Tourism Fernie or Fernie Nordic Society to learn more.

Great location, cannot be beat. Stayed in a 1 bedroom condo with pull out couch. Lots of space, met all of our needs to cook breakfast, come back for lunch and wind down in the evening after 4 days of skiing. Only downside was the locker storage room is in an awkward location and had to either go through the garage door which is in the back of the building or through the actual building by taking an elevator. Liked the cleanliness, property conditions & facilities.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom for 2 nights.  Great view. Great to have such a convenient location to the lifts. The condo was clean and well laid out. Rooms clean and comfortable. Beds and bedding were comfortable and plentiful. It was stocked very well however, not with large knives for preparing foods. Underground parking with equipment lockers was provided. Definitely would stay here again.
